About Me
I am an integrative psychotherapist with extensive clinical experience offering counselling and psychotherapy to adults. I believe creating a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space where you can share your experiences openly, creating a collaborative relationship between us to form, best helps meet your needs and create positive change in your life.
My Approach
I’m a firm believer there is not a ‘one shoe fits all’ approach when working with clients. As an integrative practitioner, I use a variety of counselling techniques, which I tailor to each individual based on their needs and circumstances.
There are two main counselling frameworks in which our work together may focus. Working psychodynamically, we may explore your childhood and early life relationship dynamics to become more conscious of things outside of your awareness, understanding more about your past.
Working with the humanistic approach is where we can focus on the here-and-now, exploring your current subjective understanding of life events and how this affects your self-worth. This therapeutic approach can provide greater self-development by gaining insight into your own personal value and unique strengths.
A vital component in my practice is developing a positive therapeutic relationship, building trust and honesty in a collaborative partnership so that you feel comfortable and supported as much as possible to explore yourself in-depth and express your needs. I believe the dynamic relationship between counsellor and client is central to the effectiveness of therapeutic outcomes.
I have worked with clients from all walks of life facing issues of:
Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Eating Disorders, Identity Issues, OCD, Post-Traumatic Stress, Relationship Issues, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Sexuality and Sexual Identity, Stress, Trauma, Work-related issues
